It's Still Bomb Vs. Bombshell With Barbie And Oppenheimer Not Changing Release Dates

She's Death Itself, Destroyer of Worlds. He's just Ken.

After Cannes Film Festival's longtime director, Thierry Fremaux, had an interview with Variety saying that he wanted to screen both Greta Gerwig's Barbie and Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer but neither were ready, he also mentioned that Nolan's film will be released at the end of the year. That started rumors of a possible delay.

This is not the case as the Oppenheimer vs Barbie showdown is still very much on. Lindsey Bahr of the AP confirmed that Christopher Nolan's upcoming biopic about the engineer of the atomic bomb has not been delayed. GameSpot also reached out to Universal for confirmation.

Both films are expected to hit theaters nationwide on July 21 this year, and there is still plenty of time to change, but as of press time, there are no changes to the release schedule.

The first full Barbie trailer dropped earlier his month along with an astonishing 24 individual character posters showcasing the varying Kens and Barbies featured in the movie. Oppenheimer has only released a teaser and a very intense full trailer back in December, but no new footage or final trailer just yet.
